The Community Foundation of the Gunnison Valley reached out to John Powell and Jeff Moffett to update the 2022 State of the Community Report. Rather than merely updating two years of data, the 2024 State of the Community seeks to clearly identify and articulate the structural issues underlying persistent socioeconomic and behavioral health challenges facing Gunnison County. The study will focus on those households earning above the federal poverty level and yet are able to be self-sufficient, roughly 1 in 5 Gunnison County households.
