The Independence neighborhood is located in Elbert County, Colorado, north of Elizabeth. The master-planned community covers over 1,000 acres with 1,400 home sites. Nearly half of the acreage has been preserved as open space.
Independence will positively contribute to Elbert County’s economic and social vitality. The analysis quantified the economic benefits of developing the neighborhood, the annual spending of its residents, and the increased public revenue from higher property values. To conduct this analysis, custom economic models were created for each of these aspects.
